We combine expertly curated industry programming and tailored events, to provide a platform aimed for the music ecosystem's contributors to meet, exchange and network. Our aim is to create a strong collaborative hive, to address the industry’s major issues and to tackle its key breakthroughs.

    Midem places an emphasis on assisting music professionals from all around the world and encouraging business development and talent discovery.

    We develop the High-Potential Markets Programme to assist with the structuring and professionalization of the music industry in emerging regions to stimulate its international exchanges.

  • African Music Forum

    Launched in 2018 as part of the High-Potential Markets Programme, Midem’s ambition is to assist with the development and internationalisation of the African music markets. In fact, despite their incredible influence over lots of music styles all over the world, African countries only represent 2% of the world music market.

    However, with the highest youth population and a rapid adoption of mobile media, the digital revolution has given a new opportunity to export more local artists. The African markets, with their diversity and cultural wealth, possess a huge potential.

  • With its long-term programme in Africa, Midem’s objective is to accelerate this transition by creating bridges between the black continent and international territories. This initiative aims to foster bilateral exchanges between national and international music executives and sectors in order to facilitate the structuring and professionalisation of the African market.

    The African Music Forum consist in a series of conferences, workshops and showcases attended by more than 400 industry professionals representing labels, streaming platforms, publishers, artists, politicians, media, and institutions. The objective is to support the structuring and internationalisation of the African music industry, encouraging business development and new talent discovery.
